Less is better at 39th Home Expressions show

This weekend's 39th annual Home Expressions event is a bit of a fixer-upper.

Previously taking up the entire three floors of the convention centre, this year's show is contained on the 78,000-square-foot exhibition floor.

Show manager Jan Currier said the size of the show isn't smaller, just more specific.

"The show is tighter with better quality products," said Currier, noting the space is crammed with 186 vendors.

"Anything that you need for the interior, exterior or your outdoor living is here."

Ralph and Elaine Feniuk were happy about the layout and got more than they anticipated from the show. They plan on re-landscaping their backyard, buying new garage doors and are considering a hot tub.

Ralph said there are deals at the show that can make the difference on a big project.

"A lot of them have 15 to 20 per cent off," he said. "If you're spending thousands and thousands of dollars, it most certainly makes a difference."

William Lyburn, of Krevco Lifestyles, says he brought eight different hot tubs and two swim-spas for the show.
