Man accused in brother's Thanksgiving stabbing death

A 22-year-old man is accused of the stabbing death of his brother during a family gathering where tempers flared on Thanksgiving Day.

Justin Frederick Larche has been charged with manslaughter after a fight with his older brother, Christopher Barry Larche, 25.

Police were called to a house in the 100 block of Lindsay Street about 2 a.m. Monday. Christopher Barry Larche, 25, was found in the front yard of the home. He was taken to hospital and died of his wounds later Monday morning.

Police said on Tuesday that Christopher Larche and his girlfriend lived at the address with two children under age 12, who were asleep when the fight started.

The mother of both brothers attended the family gathering along with another woman who was a guest that evening. Police said the unidentified woman left the home before the fight started, but police are interested in interviewing her as a witness.

The investigation revealed that at the gathering at the home, the two brothers became involved in an argument, and as the dispute escalated, other family members attempted to intervene.

As the fight continued, police said, Justin Larche armed himself with a knife.

So far, police don't know what led to the lethal blows.

"This is a dispute between two brothers, an extreme (that) we rarely report, which has resulted in a manslaughter charge," Const. Jason Michalyshen said Tuesday.

Autopsy results are pending.
