Man charged after stabbing

WINNIPEG police have a man in custody after a stabbing earlier this weekend on Alfred Avenue.

The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.

Police say a fight broke out between two men, both aged 29, in front of a house in the 300 block of the North End street. It ended when one man received multiple stab wounds that left him in critical condition. The suspect fled in a vehicle.

The arrest followed an investigation by major crimes investigators with the Winnipeg Police Service.

Steven Adam Lucier, 29, was charged with aggravated assault for his involvement, police reported Sunday.
