New charge in hit-and-run

A charge against a 27-year-old man has been upgraded in the death of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle on the overpass ramp at the south Perimeter Highway at about 3:55 a.m. on Sept. 30.

Police said Friday the charge against the driver has been upgraded to failing to remain at the scene of an accident causing death.

He is also charged with driving without a licence.

The accused has not been named.

Police have not identified the 18-year-old man who died in the collision.
