New diploma tackles hacking
THE University of Winnipeg's continuing education department and Winnipeg Technical College are starting the province's first diploma course in tackling computer hackers.
The full-time network security diploma program will begin in September, offered jointly by The University of Winnipeg's Professional, Applied and Continuing Education and Winnipeg Technical College (WTC).
Students will have access to state-of-the-art CISCO Labs at WTC, the U of W said.
The one-year diploma program blends hands-on-learning with theory. Graduates receive in-depth knowledge of and training in various protocols, network standards, designs and security solutions.
The network security diploma program is 12 months full-time and begins in September.
