No arrests yet in stabbing, two shootings

WINNIPEG police are looking for suspects in two Saturday shootings they believe are unrelated, Const. Jason Michalyshen said Sunday.

Police continue to investigate a shooting at Sargent Avenue and Langside Street, the second shooting in the area on Saturday, along with a stabbing.

The man was rushed to hospital in unstable condition, but his condition has since improved, police said.

Just over seven hours earlier, another man was shot a few blocks away in the 400 block of Maryland Street.

Emergency personnel received reports of shots being fired in the area around 6:40 a.m. An 18-year-old man was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital in unstable condition, but police later upgraded his condition to stable.

In a third incident, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the 500 block of Langside Street around 1:40 a.m.

Police said the man apparently was walking near Sargent and Langside when two unknown men confronted him and one of them stabbed him.

The victim is in stable condition in hospital.

No arrests have been made. The major crimes unit is investigating.
