TWO men raised a blinding stink, literally, to pull off a hotel heist early Sunday morning in St. Vital.
Winnipeg police reported two men barged into a hotel and bar in the 100 block of Alpine Avenue just before 2 a.m. and sprayed a noxious substance in the air to disarm hotel staff and patrons.
Both were wearing disguises and carrying firearms. The suspects held up two female workers, one aged 20 and the other 37, and demanded cash.
The pair sprayed a noxious substance, got an undisclosed amount of cash and left, leaving witnesses unable to supply much of a description for the tears pouring from their eyes.
The best description was both men were wearing dark clothing; one was about six feet tall and the other about 5-9.
The robbers likely used pepper spray or bear spray, police reported.
