EVERY float in the 103rd annual Santa Claus Parade was a winner, but five were singled out for special honours.
This year's "Wow" award and the $500 prize for best in show went to the Springs Church entry, a crowd-pleaser that featured Dr. Seuss's legendary holiday character The Grinch toting a gigantic sack of toys.
The "I" awards for most innovative and inspirational entries, which come with a $250 prize, went to Kitchen Craft in the commercial category and the Chemo Savvy Dragon Boat Team in the non-commercial category.
The "Ahh" award for best combination of light and sound was given to Dynasty Bathrooms in the commercial category and Murdoch MacKay Collegiate in the non-commercial category.
The roughly 100 floats in the two-hour parade were judged by a panel consisting of True North CEO Jim Ludlow, Bomber CEO Garth Buchko, Goldeyes GM Andrew Collier, radio personality Don Percy and Free Press humour columnist Doug Speirs.
The winning floats will be honoured at a special ceremony Dec. 4 in the gallery at Manitoba Hydro Place.
