Man arrested in stabbing

POLICE have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with a stabbing in a Main Street hotel.

Police said three people -- including a 40-year-old woman, a 49-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man -- were physically assaulted or stabbed following an altercation in a hotel suite in the 600 block of Main Street on Nov. 17. The male suspect fled the suite before police arrived.

Police arrested Cameron Joseph Okemow on Wednesday morning. He has since been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, assault causing bodily harm, four counts of breach of probation and robbery with violence.

He was detained in custody.

Gas station employee assaulted

A gas station employee suffered minor injuries after he was assaulted by two men early Saturday morning.

Police said a gas bar in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue West was robbed shortly after 5 a.m. Winnipeg police said two men assaulted a 26-year-old male clerk and fled with cash, cigarettes and merchandise.

Police are looking for two Caucasian men in their 20s with short dark brown hair. The first suspect is 5-10 and 160 pounds. The second man is 6-2 and 230 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the major crimes unit at 204-986-6219.

Police continue to investigate.
