Police charge country music fans
The RCMP said it issued seven charges under the Highway Traffic Act for speeding and 17 charges under the Liquor Control Act for having liquor in an unauthorized place to some of the hundreds of country music fans lined up for the start of Dauphin's annual country music festival.
The RCMP said traffic was backed up for 20 kilometres Wednesday as country music fans waited patiently to enter the festival grounds.
The RCMP said officers also answered two complaints about music fans playing sports and games on the highway while they waited.

Don't blame the people attending! All they did was drive their
cars to an event which by the sounds of it, had no traffic
control whatsoever. Sounded like one awesome event! Whis I could have been there! =)

Drinking and country music go hand in hand...but not on the highways.

And rightfully so....I suggest for the safety of all who use the highways and attend their festivities to respect the law and behave themselves.
