Police charge suspect with 46 city break-ins
A man has been charged after 46 break-ins at businesses across the city since the beginning of the month.
The businesses were hit early in the morning and cash was taken.
Officers from the East District crime unit conducted the investigation and early Thursday took into custody a man who was driving on Portage Avenue near Thompson Drive.
Police said damage to the broken windows and doors at the various businesses totalled $12,000. It's believed about $86,000 in cash was stolen.
Jason William Robert Walmsley, 23, has been charged with 46 counts of break and enter and one count of breach of probation.
Walmsley is being held in custody.
