A boil-water advisory has been issued by Manitoba Health for parts of Winnipeg and north of the Perimeter Highway.
Areas south of Bishop Grandin Boulevard between the Red and Seine rivers, plus north of the Perimeter, are under the advisory, said Winnipeg Regional Health Authority spokeswoman Heidi Graham Tuesday night.
The advisory is a precautionary measure following sampling results showing bacteria, Graham said.
The source of the bacteria is not yet known, Graham said, although she said the positive test could be shown to be a sampling error.
There will be further results Wednesday afternoon, Graham said.
