"I don't know much about (Brian Pallister). I have only read little snippets about him in the news, but I think it's kind of ridiculous that people get so upset about things like how much his house costs and stuff like that. People make a salary and what they decide to spend their money on, they spend their money on. I think people get a little worked up about stuff like that. Public-servant salaries are disclosed, so however much money he makes now is how much they decided to spend, so it's not like he's stealing money and using it to buy a house. I haven't been terribly impressed with people's reactions to that."

"I really like NDP stances or the more left-wing stances on dealing with crime. My mom and dad both work in the justice system and it seems like there are better ways of dealing with crime, especially among younger people, than putting them in jail. But it's a complicated issue..."

"When they get into government, they all react the same way, whatever party is voted in. They are dictated by the global economy. It's nice to say they have a platform, but they never exercise it."

"I thought the (NDP) did a good job of handling the floods. It's a huge undertaking and they only have a limited amount of money. If you choose to build where it's going to flood, then you're going to have a problem and you have to take some of the responsibility. The government stepped up and you have to step up, too. I think they do as good as they can."

"I felt the NDP was doing better, but I am not impressed with their handling of the flood. I live a mile away from Lake Manitoba in the RM of St. Laurent. I've seen a lot of devastation there, houses completely destroyed. I would think that the NDP would be losing popularity all around Lake Manitoba. People were flooded out all along the lake and there were a lot of problems."
