Rollover kills ATV driver
THE 42-year-old driver of an all-terrain vehicle was killed and two passengers were sent to hospital after an ATV rolled north of Gimli Friday night.
RCMP report the rollover occurred in the RM of Bifrost near the junction of Highway 68 and Provincial Road 222.
The 2012 Polaris Ranger ATV was on a trail when it rolled over at least once, police said in a news release.
The driver was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. RCMP said his name will not be released.
Two passengers, a 46-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man, were transported to hospital with undetermined injuries.
There were no other people or vehicles involved, police said.
No further information is available and the RCMP are still investigating.
Man stabbed downtown
A man is in stable condition in hospital after being stabbed in downtown Winnipeg early Saturday morning just after midnight.
Police said the man was walking on Portage Avenue and Balmoral Street at about 12:20 a.m. Saturday when he was confronted by a group, stabbed, then pepper sprayed.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues, Winnipeg police said.
Thieves target store
FOUR masked men robbed a convenience store in East Kildonan early Saturday morning.
Winnipeg police said the thieves confronted the lone clerk at the store in the 500 block of London Avenue just after 2 a.m. Saturday, demanded cash and cigarettes then fled.
The men were wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered, police said. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
