Save tree from cold, dark grave
Don't send Xmas fir to dump, recycle it

Christmas trees are being recycled into wood chips at 11 Let's Chip In depots in Winnipeg. Residents can drop off their trees at no cost until Jan. 20, 2013.
All tinsel, decorations, plastic bags and tree stands should be removed before they are dropped off. Residents are welcome to bring a container and help themselves to free wood chips that are available at all depots, while quantities last.
City residents are reminded that trees placed beside recycling or garbage carts will not be collected.
Last season, Winnipeggers recycled 15,000 trees. Let's Chip In depots provide opportunities to recycle Christmas trees instead of sending them to landfills.
