Grab your shades, slather on some sunscreen and head down to Birds Hill Park for the 39th annual Winnipeg Folk Festival. Today you can catch live performances from Iron & Wine, Ruthie Foster and Doug Paisley. Live performances begin at 11 a.m. Adult day passes are $76, with reduced admission for children and youths. The Winnipeg Goldeyes take on the Sioux Falls Fighting Pheasants today at 1:30 p.m. Head down to Shaw Park to root, root, root for your home team. Step into a fairy tale
Winnipeg Art Gallery's Fairy Tales, Monsters, and the Genetic Imagination exhibit features approximately 60 works by contemporary artists, showcasing invented creatures and imaginary worlds. Suffering withdrawal from the Winnipeg Jazz Festival? Look no further than Assiniboine Park's Leo Mol Sculpture Garden. Kick off your Sunday shoes
In the mood for some big hair, big singing and big dancing? Head down to Kildonan Park for Rainbow Stage's Footloose. Based on the 1984 Kevin Bacon movie, Footloose tells the story of Ren, a rebellious teen who moves to a small town that has banned dancing. Ren fights for his and the town's right to boogie.
