THE cause of a fire that destroyed the interior of a home in St. Andrews early Thursday morning was accidental, the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner says.

No one was home the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The fire started in a utility room of the 1.5-storey older home in the 5500-block of Highway 9 between St. Andrews Road and Liss Road.

The fire commissioner's office and Selkirk RCMP were at the scene.

Fire officials could not provide an estimate on the damage, but the interior of the house was gutted.

No damage estimate was available, and further information was not being released.
