The Winnipeg Parking Authority’s four-month trial of allowing motorists to pay for parking by phone has been deemed a success and will now become a permanent option, the parking agency announced yesterday.
To mark the move, the parking authority also announced it will give one-hour free parking to everyone who pays for their parking on a city street by phone. The discount promotion is in effect until April 11.
The parking authority has also approved a proposal that will allow businesses and organizations with a fleet of vehicles or its employees to bill their parking to a central pay-by-phone account.
