You Won't Believe What I Found in Manitoba

One glorious summer day I was camping in Nopeming. My family had just arrived and my brother and I jumped out of the truck. We started to look around the campsite when we saw a big rock. We ran over to it and started to climb it. When we got to the top we looked at the landscape around us. We found a wall that was made out of grass. I found wild roses and wild crocuses. I also found wild chokecherries and wild cranberries. I picked lots and lots of them.

Then my brother called me over. He had found a fort that was actually made like a beaver dam propped up against a rock. We went back to help my parents put up the camper. Then we showed them what we had found. They were fascinated. Then we found a little trail. We followed it to a rock by the lake. It was a beautiful sight. We decided that we would come back and fish there. Then we went further down the trail and found a bear cave. We walked into the cave and found some bear teeth. We went further in and then ran back out. We had run back out because it smelled and sounded like there was a bear.

I had hidden the flowers and berries in two different buckets. When we got back to the camper I took out the buckets and showed my parents. My mom gladly took the flowers and berries and asked where I had gotten them. When I told her where they had been we had to hike back up the rock and fill the buckets. My dad and my brother were picking berries and my mom and I were picking the flowers. We had to pick the flowers with long stems because my mom was going to be hanging them to dry. We had berries for desert that night. The next day we went on a hiking trail that was all on rocks. On the trail we found an inukshuk. My brother started to call it "Bill Small Head". We decided that when we got to the end of the trail we would make one too. My brother named our inukshuk "Charlie Big Head". When we got back to the campsite we got our fishing gear and went fishing on the rock.

I found lots of stuff in Manitoba; I found artifacts, vegetation, stuff from the past and stuff from right now. I know in the future I will have fun living in Manitoba.
