A TEENAGE boy hurt in a carnival accident at the Red River Exhibition remained in critical condition Saturday morning, Winnipeg police confirmed.
The 16-year-old was hit when he tried to retrieve his cap as the Crazy Mouse ride was in motion Thursday evening.
The police investigation showed the boy got off the ride when it stopped and managed to scale a two-metre-high safety fence to get to the ride's track, which is closed to the public, to retrieve his cap, Red River Exhibition CEO Garth Rogerson said Friday.
The Crazy Mouse ride was shut down until Friday afternoon while provincial investigators inspected it. They found there was no mechanical or human error at fault.
