Marco Polo Bear
Spend time at Grant Park Shopping Centre, specifically in the Atrium, for Glenn Hopfner's book launch. His fourth and newest children's book, The Adventures of Marco Polo Bear, is a fictional piece of work based on facts as well as Hopfner's real-life experience with polar bears. Step into a cartoon world at the Get Animated workshops at Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain, 340 Provencher Blvd., at 2 p.m. Families can watch several short cartoons - en francais, of course -- and at 4 p.m., they will have a chance to participate in the Hands-on Animation Workshop. Attend an aboriginal festival
Celebrate aboriginal culture on the last day of the Manito Ahbee Festival at the MTS Centre, 300 Portage Ave. From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., contestants will show their skills during the International Competition Pow Wow. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees can browse and buy at the Indigenous Marketplace and Trade Show. For more information, call 204-956-1849.
