Two charged with selling hairspray

WINNIPEG police have charged a man and a woman at a West End corner store with selling hairspray and mouthwash as intoxicating substances.

The man, 61, and a woman, 52, were charged under the Liquor Control Act and Canada Tobacco Act with selling non-potable intoxicating substances as beverages, and selling cigarettes in a package of less than 20.

On Oct. 29 a Liquor Control Act Search Warrant was executed and a quantity of mouthwash and hairspray was seized. The convenience store is located in the 700 block of St. Matthews Avenue, police said.

The two accused were released on a promise to appear.
