Winnipeg police responded to a fight involving several men at the McDonald's in the 800 block of Leila at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday, a news release said.
An 18-year-old man told police he had been confronted by two men, one armed with a crowbar, who tried to assault him with the crowbar and a chair from the restaurant.
The attackers initially fled, then returned and smashed the window of the business and the victim's car window. They took off again, travelling at a high rate of speed, the police press release said.
The police canine unit spotted a suspect vehicle being driven erratically in the 700 block of Kingsbury Avenue. The vehicle stopped and two suspects fled. They were taken into custody a short distance away.
They face charges of assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000 and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
One was held in custody and the other was released on a promise to appear, police said.
