TWO crash victims remain in hospital following Monday's fatal collision on Highway 59, RCMP say.
The driver of the southbound pickup truck, a 30-year-old man from Winnipeg, and the passenger in the westbound pickup truck, a 34-year-old woman from Libau, were both listed in stable condition, RCMP said Tuesday.
The driver of the westbound truck, a 42-year-old Libau man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The initial investigation shows the southbound truck struck the other truck on the passenger side as it tried to cross Highway 59. The investigation continues.
