St. James Assiniboia 55+ Centre needs drivers for its Rides for Seniors program. Volunteers drive seniors to medical appointments, programs, banking, shopping etc. One or two rides a week or dependent on availability. Information: Adele 204-987-8850 ext. 108.

Age and Opportunity needs Community Outreach volunteers who speak Italian to reach older isolated adults living in Seven Oaks area in Winnipeg. The time commitment is once a week or every two weeks for one hour. Typical activities may include sharing a hobby, going for a walk or for coffee, reading a book or newspaper aloud, or conversing. Habitat for Humanity has educational resources available for grades 3 to 8 and would like volunteers to visit K-8 schools to promote its school programs between Sept. 10 and Sept. 28. Volunteers will require a car (mileage will be reimbursed) and an outgoing personality. Retired teachers are encouraged to apply. You will be provided with a list of schools in a division and asked that you visit them. Information: Greg at gmallett@habitat.mb.ca

Elizabeth Fry Society of Manitoba is seeking individuals with a strong work ethic for the position of receptionist. This is a part-time clerical volunteer opportunity in which duties include answering phones and directing calls, taking messages, greeting office visitors, and general office support.
