Urgent need for Red Cross volunteers in this area. Westman Emergency Plan and the Canadian Red Cross Society community meeting for the RM of Sifton, RM of Wallace, Village of Elkhorn, Town of Oak Lake and Town of Virden, Oct. 23, 7 p.m., Virden Legion Hall.
Villa Cabrini, a not-for-profit seniors residence, is seeking a volunteer for its congregate meal program. Duties include preparing food for lunch, dinner and special events and also assisting with meal planning and delivering meals to residents. Ronald McDonald House & Family Room Program are looking for volunteers for daytime, evening and weekend shifts. Volunteers will help welcome families to their "home away from home" by interacting with them, baking and assisting with light housekeeping duties. The Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is looking for volunteers to assist with public outreach activities throughout the fall and winter. Work with a fantastic group of fellow volunteers and learn about CPAWS's efforts to protect Manitoba's incredible and globally significant boreal regions for the betterment of our natural heritage, our communities and our planet. The Spence Neighbourhood Association is seeking compassionate, reliable volunteers to coach youth basketball teams in the Winnipeg Minor Basketball Association. Duties will include leading basketball practices and games, working with youth participants and their families, supporting program staff and at all times being a positive role model.
