The Cuba Va! Pavilion at Folklorama 2014 needs volunteers. Pavilion sponsor, Hope for a Better World, Aug. 10 to 16, to be cashiers, servers, cooks and to help with the children's show. Information: 204-963-5045 or mcallister_51@yahoo.ca.

 

Do you love animals? Do you have a passion for rescue dogs? Manitoba Mutts is seeking a volunteer auction co-ordinator, graphic designer and senior graphic designer to assist the organization. The auction co-ordinator is responsible for organizing annual fall online auction, obtaining prizes, administering auction online through designated software and housing the prizes until payment is confirmed and the winner picks up. Hours: four-plus-a-week with increase three to four months prior to auction. Graphic designer: working with the senior graphic designer and graphics team, create the graphics to support the Manitoba Mutts marketing and PR materials. Hours: four-to-six/week. Senior graphic designer: concept creation for print and web design and layout. Requires a strong sense of layout, information architecture and good communications skills for working with a team. The Ronald McDonald Family Room Program located at Children's Hospital is actively looking for volunteers for four-hour weekly or biweekly weekend shifts: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Our volunteers help welcome families to their home away from home by interacting with families, baking and by assisting with light housekeeping and administrative duties. The MS Society of Canada, Manitoba Division is looking for volunteers to go on the road this summer for the annual MS Bike Biking to the Viking fundraiser, celebrating its 25th anniversary, Aug. 23 and 24. All volunteers will receive a 25th-anniversary commemorative T-Shirt, meals and refreshments during their shifts, and for those who work 10 hours or more over the weekend, a complimentary ticket to the Saturday-evening dinner in Gimli ($25 value).
