Who's open, who's gone fishin' for the long weekend
The August long weekend has arrived with three days of predicted sun and showers. So whether you're indoors or out, whether rain or shine, here's a guide to what's open and what's closed this weekend.

City services
- All civic offices will be closed Monday, Aug. 6
- Single-family homes already receiving automated collection for garbage and recycling carts will continue with the schedule provided with the new carts. All other residents will not have recycling or garbage collection on Monday, with collection resuming Tuesday on Day 1 of the five-day cycle.
- Multi-family apartments will have recycle and garbage collection as normally scheduled.
- The Brady Road Landfill will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Sunday, and will be open from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
- Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule on Monday.
City recreation
- All Winnipeg public libraries will be closed Monday.
- All leisure centres will be closed Monday, with regular hours in effect on today and Sunday.
- All City of Winnipeg indoor pools will be closed Monday, while city outdoor pools will remain open.
- The following wading pools will be open Monday: Amherst Park, Dakota Park, J.H. Bruns, Keenleyside Park, Norquay Community Centre, Pascoe Park, John Steele Park, Pritchard Park, Harrow Park, Bronx Park, Central Park, McKittrick Park, Shaughnessy Park, Vimy Ridge Park and Pirates Park.
- All spray pads will be open Monday.
- The Animal Services Agency will have regular hours today and Sunday and will be closed Monday.
Out and about
- Polo Park, St. Vital, Garden City, Kildonan Place and Grant Park shopping centres will be open today from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.
- The Assiniboine Park Zoo will be open during its regular hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. all weekend
- The Winnipeg Art Gallery will be open during its regular hours, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., today and Sunday, and closed on Monday.
- The Manitoba Museum will be open during its regular hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. all weekend.
