Windshield claims online
Manitoba Public Insurance is introducing a new application which will make fixing that crack in the windshield a lot easier.
On Thursday, MPI announced eGlassClaim, a program which will allow customers to register claims for auto glass work right at the repair shop, instead of having to report claims through the agency's call centre before taking the vehicle in for repairs.
"This new system will make it easier for both the customer and our business partners in the glass repair industry to do business with MPI," said the Crown-owned insurer's president Marilyn McLaren in a statement.
The new system will enable repair shops to interface directly with MPI's claim system, file electronic invoices, and receive automatic payments for completed work.
"It's a natural progression for us," said McLaren, "as we continue to explore new ways to use technology to increase value for our customers."
Adoption of the new system by individual repair shops is not mandatory, said MPI, though all glass repair services are encouraged to participate.
