Woman improving after collision on Arlington Street

A woman involved in a crash early Tuesday on Arlington Street was rushed to hospital in unstable condition but has improved, say police.

The crash happened at about 6:40 a.m. on the 1000 block of Arlington, north of William Avenue. It left a GMC Jimmy a mangled mess, damaged a Ford van and also sent a Honda Acura plowing through a nearby fence in a subsequent crash.

Winnipeg Police Service spokesman Const. Chris Wingfield said the female driver of the GMC has been upgraded to stable condition.

No arrests have been made or charges laid, he said.

The crash between the Jimmy and the Ford van shut down traffic on Arlington north of William Avenue for a portion of the morning until tow trucks hauled the vehicles away.
