Looking to enhance your Italian culinary skills? De Luca's Cooking Studio is offering classes throughout the spring. Cooking instructor Anna Paganelli will guide you through a variety of authentic Italian dishes while you enjoy the feast, which also includes a wine tasting bar, antipasto and dessert. A family affair
Today's your last day to catch All in the Family, an exhibit of photographs of different families over the years that invites you to examine your own expectations of the relationships within these pictures. The Winnipeg Art Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Take the whole family to reflect on these haunting photographs. Admission is $10 for adults. Free for kids under 5.
Treat yourself!
River skating may be closed at the Forks now, but that doesn't mean a trip to this historical site is out of the question till summer. Spend the day inside and visit Tall Grass Prairie Bread Co. & Deli for a coffee and cinnamon bun while catching up with friends. Tall Grass Prairie has all kinds of delicacies and delights, and experiments with different flours such as spelt and brown and white rice. They even have vegan offerings, so everyone can enjoy a treat. However, you may need to be rolled out on a wheelbarrow afterwards.
Summer lovin'
The Cottage Country Show wraps up today at the River Exhibition Park from noon to 6 p.m. Whether you own a cottage or like to live vicariously through someone who does, this event makes cabin life seem like nothing could be better. The Cottage Country Show offers different seminars and exhibits to enhance the coziness of your cottage. Tickets are $10 and students/seniors get a discount to $8.
Sex in the Peg
Thirsty for a cosmopolitan? Are you missing Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda? Well, get your girlfriends together and head to the Park Theatre this Thursday. The Arthritis Society is putting on a fundraiser and screening the first Sex and the City movie starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $50 with a $25 tax receipt and schwag bag to enjoy at the end of the night. The art of tight making
It's Me Made March, which is a challenge to make and wear your own handmade wardrobe. Every Saturday throughout the month of March there are workshops to satisfy every piece of clothing you will need to make a perfect handmade wardrobe. On March 16, it's DIY tights, and all I can say for us girls is, this is a staple for comfy living. Workshops are $50, or two weeks for $85. A vacation to space
Visit the Planetarium today and take a trip out of this world. On Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, the Manitoba Museum's Planetarium hosts Wonders of the Universe, which takes you on a journey deep into space through the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope and takes you back billions of years to witness the universe's birth. Shows start at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the weekend and 2:30 p.m. during the week. Admission is $8 for adults and $28.50 for the family -- it may be the cheapest vacation you'll go on this year, har-har.
