Sporting his "I was born in Misericordia" T-shirt, eight-pound, six- ounce James Donovan Hans was the centre of attention as Winnipeg's first baby of 1981. The new year was only seven minutes old when 21-year-old Carol Hans gave birth to her first son. Overdue some two weeks, no one was more surprised than the mother when she was told her newborn child had won the annual Stork Derby.
