New Year's Babies of yore 1977 to 2013
Going back to our archives we present you with almost every New Year's baby since 1977 in Winnipeg.

Susan and Kirk Shmon pose proudly with Manitoba's first baby of 1980, their daughter Breanne. Kirk Shmon was at work when he discovered he was the father of Manitoba's New Year's baby of 1980. "Some of the guys told me they heard my name on the radio," said Shmon, who works at Dominion Malting Ltd. "I guess it (the shock) hasn't really hit us yet." Breanne Emily Shmon was born at 12:07 a.m. Jan.1, 1980, in Winnipeg's Concordia Hospital.
