    The Winnipeg Goldeyes' baseball team kicked off its annual All-Star fan festival and skills competition at Shaw Park Monday, complete with giveaways, autograph sessions and live entertainment. The All-Star game is set for Tuesday, July 29 at 7 p.m.

    Cooks Creek was transformed into a medieval village of more than 3,000 people Saturday as the biennial medieval festival took place for the sixth time. The Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception and grotto became a castle, and its grounds a market and jousting fields where attendees could buy traditional garb and watch knights fight each other.

    It's become one of the staples of Canada Day in Winnipeg since it started three years ago, and despite rain and wind the Living Flag event at the Forks is in full swing. The event, put on by the Downtown Winnipeg Biz, puts together people wearing red and white in an attempt to form Canada's biggest "living" Canadian flag.
