No Setta... Hello Ito... and other notes
Bits and pieces from Bomberland the day before the huge Bomber-Tiger-Cat tilt...
Huge news from the camp of the Tabbies today with word kicker/punter Nick Setta will miss Sunday's game after suffering an injury at practice on Friday. Jeremy Ito, the former Rutgers star who was actually cut by Hamilton on Tuesday, will step in to handle both the punting an placekicking in his first pro game.
Bomber head coach Mike Kelly said the status of DB/LB Shawn Gallant (knee) won't be made official until about an hour before kickoff. If he can't go, it's likely safety Nick Kordic would be added to the active roster.
Jovon Johnson gave the thumbs up today when asked if he was good to go. He has shown no signs of the ankle injury he suffered in last week's loss to the Alouettes. Ditto for Jonathan Hefney.
Two Bomber fans instrumental in helping rallying Bomber Nation this week were invited to speak to the team after practice on Saturday, Chuck Duboff and Jesse Martin. Talk about a cool moment for two diehards. Chuck's also one of our Winnipeg Free Press fan bloggers; we've posted the text of his speech on our site here.
Inside the Bomber locker room several players were mesmerized by the movie '300' which was playing on the TVs. It is the story, and this is maybe fitting, of 300 Spartans who fight to the death against heavy odds against Persian King Xerxes.
