Revealing offensive numbers

Folks

Space restrictions in today's paper meant that this box was trimmed from my story. I thought I'd post it here because I think these numbers are revealing.

As we explained in print, new Bomber head coach Paul LaPolice was let go following the 2003 season because the club's offensive ranking had dropped from first to fourth in his two years at the controls.

Turns out neither GM Brendan Taman or head coach Dave Ritchie wanted to fire him, but that — according to a source I spoke to Thursday — the pressure to make a move 'came from above.'

Anyway, take a peek at these numbers and see for yourself how the offence has managed in the years after LaPolice.
