Wally takes swipes at Niki

  • Print

If it weren’t so Mean Girls, this (click here) might be kind of funny. Churchill Tory candidate Wally Daudrich is burning up his bandwidth with some familiar, if bush-league, swipes at NDP MP Niki Ashton.

According to Daudrich, Ashton is a socialist in cahoots with the Chinese, who has no credibility within her caucus because her father, provincial cabinet minister Steve Ashton, isn’t in Ottawa. Oh, and rampant socialism is responsible for the North’s ills.

Here’s the highlight reel:

"NDP socialism has caused community breakdown in many of our remote areas with a lack of basic services such as clean water and sewer systems. NDP socialism has caused tremendous social issues including substance abuse and violence."

"Wally will work for you, bridging the political lines to understand policies that make sense for the people of our riding. While Niki Ashton has been spending her time working on her dad's failed leadership."

"Niki Ashton can talk, but no one will listen. Ms. Ashton has no relatives in Ottawa."

And, my favourite....

"China and other aggressive countries are working hard at what they want. We need an MP that will protect our jobs and bring new jobs to northern Manitoba. Chinese-educated Niki Ashton is a socialist. She consistently berates industry and capital that would bring investment to our area. Niki would export our jobs to China if she had any power. Thankfully, she is only Jack Layton's back-bench complainer. Niki Ashton is a bench warmer. Niki Ashton has no relatives in Ottawa."

The cherry on top is the picture of Wally with former NDP premier Gary Doer, apparently included without irony.
