  • Thank you, honest person

I stopped by the men’s shoes department in The Bay at Polo Park in mid-December to put my jacket on, packages on the floor, purse on a table.

  • Snow job for angels

I had to drive from Winnipeg Beach to Winnipeg for a doctor’s appointment. It was snowing and I turned off Highway 9 onto a secondary road to get to Highway 8. The turn was a curved yield lane, but because there was so much snow and no tire tracks, I could not see where the road was.

  • Catastrophe averted, thanks to Bert

    To Bert,

  • What is that infuriating sound?

At one o’clock in the morning, I was awakened by the infuriating, determined “CHIRP” of what I assumed to be a smoke alarm.

  • Generous gesture

The roads were slippery and cars bumper to bumper. Heading south on Sherbrook and waiting for a light change to cross Broadway, a homeless person crossed in front of three lanes of vehicles.

  • Warm hearts, frozen faces

Gowns for Grads recently received over 500 gowns that needed to be picked up and transported to our storage room.

  • Smiled all the way home

I had finished shopping at Superstore on a recent Saturday afternoon and was ready to pay for my groceries with my credit card.

  • Thanks for the tow

Thank you to the kind motorist who stopped to tow my daughter, a novice winter driver, from a steep snow bank on River Road in the afternoon on Dec. 9. Your kindness was appreciated.

  • Thanks, lovely couple

I want to thank the generous couple behind me in line for my breakfast at IKEA recently.

  • Christian, the travel angel

I was leaving a rather tight spot in a badly designed parking lot. As I was manoeuvring, I scraped the underside of my front bumper on an ice bank.

  • Christmas lunch special

During our annual girls’ Christmas party at Triple Bs on Scurfield Boulevard, we were overwhelmed at the very gracious gesture of a special someone who paid for all our lunches that day (Dec. 8).

  • Saved Christmas

We thought Christmas would be ruined when our autistic son lost a bag of his video games on the way to a doctor’s visit. He was devastated and after checking with neighbourhood businesses and schools, we gave little hope of finding the games and saving Christmas for our son.

  • No one is left out

A friend’s daughter, Lisa, wanted to teach her four-year-old daughter the importance of sharing, particularly at this time of the year. Lisa decided they would donate to the program that gives shoeboxes full of toys and other items to disadvantaged children.

  • To my winter angel

I was on my way to appointment in Winnipeg. My car started to vibrate and smell of burnt rubber.

  • It's catching on

I would like to thank the family that was in the car in the West Broadway area recently. I had just got off the bus from a morning downtown finishing up my Christmas shopping. I was walking toward my apartment building when this girl who maybe was in her late teens or early 20s jumped out of the car. I assumed that they were lost and she was going to ask for directions. Not so.

  • Special treat very appreciated

I was Christmas shopping with my mother and brother when we were approached by a gentleman in the parking lot.

  • For the community

The holiday season brings out the best in everyone.

  • Thanks to the angels

I would like to thank the angels who pushed my Civic out of the ditch at Beaudry Park on Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m. You are all truly wonderful people, and I will pay it forward when I get the chance.

  • In praise of good people

This is the fourth time this has happened: a stranger spontaneously prepaid our Timmy’s order before we got to the drive through window!

  • Angels in our midst

I was waiting for a cab at the Westwood Pharmasave Drugs when a lady told me if I was still waiting when she finished her business she would drive me home.
