A chair for Caleb

A group of us at Transcona Hairstyles and Esthetics knit scarves to raise money to buy a wheelchair for an 18-month-old boy who suffered a brain injury when he was born.

Caleb has since been diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegia Cerebral Palsy. Caleb’s mother, Cindy McKague, is an esthetician at the spa. We have raised more than $500 — one $20 scarf at a time — toward his wheelchair which will allow him to explore the world.

Recently, we got the best news ever. A family came in and made a very generous donation which pushes us even closer to buying the chair. They are Brian, Rose and son Wyatt. Brian has cerebral palsy so this family understands what Caleb and his family are going through.

We are at a loss for words, but shed many tears, many happy tears, when they came with the donation.

What an awesome Christmas present. If we were to choose anything for a present, this would of be it. Thank you Rose, Brian and Wyatt for your amazing generosity.
