A very special Remembrance Day

  • Print

I have read many letters of kindness, and I felt I needed to share the experience my husband and I had last year at a Perkins Restaurant on Vermillion Road.

On Remembrance Day 2012, my husband and I went for lunch after our church’s Remembrance Day service. My husband, Tom, is a veteran and was wearing his blazer and medals from World War II.

Before we finished our lunch, a lovely young waitress told us her parents, who were there dining, had paid for our meal and wanted to thank my husband for his service to our country.

We were grateful and thanked her and her family for this gift of kindness.

We were quite overwhelmed with this generous gesture, which was very special and we talk about it often.
