Angel bearing flowers

  • Print

I was shopping at Safeway at Meadowood Drive and Dakota Street on Mother’s Day. I don’t get out a lot as I have a disability, but I was picking up a few things.

A young lady, maybe in her early 30s, came up and said, "I feel like giving someone a hug. May I give you a hug?"

I said, "Absolutely." So we gave each other a hug which was very nice.

A little later, she came up to me again and said, "I’d like to give you these," and she handed me some flowers.

I lost my husband quite suddenly two years ago April. He never missed an opportunity over 50 years to give me flowers, birthday, Mother’s Day, all the special days. So I was so overwhelmed when she gave me these flowers.

This young lady will never know how much those flowers meant to me. She brought back the wonderful memory of my husband’s flowers. She was just an angel.
