Angels in Stonewall earn their wings

  • Print

What a snowy, cold, long winter it has been for we oldies.

After the two-day snowfall after Christmas, we were blown right in. My husband, who can’t shovel snow, was just pacing. He was going to get my brother-in-law’s tractor or find a snowblower. He went away for about an hour. When he came home the look on his face was such relief.

"Someone came and shovelled us right out." It was our neighbours Don, Monica, Little Chloe and Kaiden. They worked so hard.

This was not the first time they’ve done it. Many times we’d come home and the snow was cleared — by shovel.

And then our brother-in-law comes to town with his tractor and cleans out the heavy stuff. Lyle and Nancy live one mile out of Stonewall.

Ed and I just cannot believe the kindness of these angels.

We don’t call to ask for help. They are just there.

We feel so blessed. One day we will return the favour, I hope!

— Ed and Marie Pull
