Angels saved the day

  • Print

We were travelling north on Highway 59 on April 1.

It was a beautiful day, clear highway, when we hit black ice, went off the road and ended upside down.

Four people in vans came to our help, got us out of the car, called the ambulance and RCMP and in no time we were in an ambulance to the Selkirk Hospital.

We didn’t get any names, but you know who you are especially the ex-Free Press employee.

After X-rays, etc., we were told we could to home.

Home is Sanford, MB, and we were trying to decide who to call when an "angel" came into the room and offered to drive us home, even though she had no idea where Sanford Was.

She drove us to our front door. As a family member said, "That’s Friendly Manitoba."

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. You are all angels from heaven in our book.

— Sheila Baran and Peter Shaluk

Sanford, MB
