Faith in the younger generation

I arrived at the Superstore on Gateway Road and realized I didn’t have a loonie for the cart so I carried my purchases.

After I finished shopping, I was outside the store juggling my parcels, which were awkward and heavy. I would walk a few steps and I’d have to put them down. I began to wonder how I would ever make it to my car.

A young girl, named Jen, observing my dilemma, got out of her truck and with a warm, friendly smile asked, "Do you need some help?" I said, "That would be wonderful."

She carried most of the groceries to my car, which I must add was a fair distance away. While we were walking, I kept saying, "thank you so much" and Jen’s response was, "We’re supposed to help each other out."

Jen, you affirmed to me once again why I still have faith in the young people of today.
