I was having a rough start to my morning, and as a result was a little late leaving to catch my morning bus.
My bus stop is on busy Bishop Grandin, and I only got as far as the median before my bus pulled up. My heart sank as two thick lanes of cars zoomed by, bumper to bumper. I was so close but so far from the bus I needed to catch.
A very kind bus driver waved and waited at the stop... and waited... and waited. Even after I waved back to say that it was OK, that he didn’t have to wait for me and hold up the other riders, he waited. He just smiled back.
The light finally turned green, and I ran from the median and gratefully hopped on.
I did thank this kind person. I know that he did not have to wait for me. The kindness he showed with this gesture went far in turning my morning around.
I will definitely be thinking of this Winnipeg Transit driver when paying his kindness forward.
