Cashier Cathy saves the day

My 11-year-old son, Harrison, was riding his bike with his friends at the Bronx Park Community Club when he wiped out and hit his head on the building.

Even though he was wearing his helmet, he had hit hard enough to be dizzy and sick. When one of his friends ran to get help from an adult at the community club, they closed the door in his face even after he said his friend was hurt. They said they were enforcing a rule that no one under the age of 12 was allowed unsupervised in the building.

His friends walked my son across Henderson Highway to the Safeway on Kimberly, and a wonderful cashier named Cathy cleaned him up, stayed with him and assured him he was OK while his friends called me to go get him.

I want to say thank you to my son’s awesome friends and to Cathy at the Kimberly Safeway for all your amazing kindness and compassion.
