Catastrophe averted, thanks to Bert
To Bert,
It was heroic of you to jump in my moving car as it crossed St Anne’s, with no driver. (Who knew an automatic car could slip into gear?)
It must have been a sight as it weaved through traffic, as you said. How grateful I am to you for averting what could have been a major catastrophe.
A heartfelt thank you, not only for your skill and your quick mind but also for you kindness. Your effort will never be forgotten.
And I have learned an invaluable lesson: my car will no longer be left running, despite what temperature it may be.
