Crowd stops to help

I was out for my daily five-mile walk and crossing the grass island at the corner of Lodge Avenue and Booth Drive when I stepped into a deep hole, and fell rather heavily to the ground.

I am 75 years of age, which is difficult to admit, so it took a few seconds to get up. By the time I got to my feet, I was literally surrounded by people, asking if they could be of assistance. This included one gentleman who stopped his car in the middle of the intersection. After they were satisfied I was all right, they disappeared with the exception of one lady who offered to walk me home.

As it turns out, after an X-ray was taken I did find that I had a badly sprained ankle and still have some soreness.

I wish to thank all the people who stopped to offer assistance. If they read this, they will know who they are.

It makes you feel good when you experience such an act of kindness.

So, once again, thank-you, and may God bless.
