Gift of turf made the day

  • Print

My fiancé and I went to pick up our Bomber season tickets at the new stadium. We noticed everyone was getting a little piece of the old stadium turf.

The family has had season tickets for over 20 years, but this year they changed the first name on one of the tickets from one brother to my fiancé so he was not entitled to receive the piece of turf.

We were talking about this as we walked away, unhappy not to receive this piece of turf. A couple overheard us talking and I guess realized we were really bothered about it.

The kind gentlemen took his clear box containing the turf and said, "This is for you. You deserve it more than we do. We have only been season ticket holders for a couple of years, and you have been ticket holders for over 20 years."

We did say, "No, it’s OK." But the gentlemen wouldn’t hear of it. We said thank you and we were on our way, happy with our piece of turf.

Just shows how a Random Act of Kindness can make someone’s day just perfect.

Thank you to the stranger who made our day.
