Go Bombers, go
Sam, my four-year-old son, and I were shopping at the Winnipeg Blue Bomber store.
After looking around for awhile, we got in line to pay, and I noticed Bomber punter Mike Renaud in front of us. I leaned down and quietly told Sam that the man in front of us plays for the Blue Bombers.
Mike apparently overheard us, knelt down, introduced himself and began talking to Sam. Sam being shy, quickly buried his head in my shoulder.
Mike finished his purchase and as he turned around, he handed Sam a stuffed Blue Bomber mascot Boomer doll that he had purchased for him.
The look on Sam’s face was priceless. He was smiling from ear to ear as was I.
Mike Renaud didn’t need to do this, but he did and he made my son feel like he was on top of the world.
Not many people would take the time to make a little boy feel so special, so thank you Mike Renaud. You made our day. Go Bombers, go!
